Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Bergen

    Morning

    Arrivée à Bergen & installation

Land at Bergen-Flesland Airport (BGO), 12 km south of the city. The Bybanen Light Rail Line 1 reaches central Bergen in 45 min (47 NOK / ~€4) - very convenient. A taxi runs 350-500 NOK (~€30-45). If arriving by train (Bergensbanen from Oslo, 7h - one of the world's most scenic routes), the station is in the center. Check into your hotel near Bryggen or Torgallmenningen, drop your luggage and enjoy a kaffe before the afternoon along the port and surrounding fjords.

    Afternoon

    Bryggen UNESCO & funiculaire Fløibanen

First explore Bryggen, the iconic colorful wooden houses of the wharf, UNESCO-listed. This Hanseatic trading quarter dates from the 14th century and hosted the German merchant outposts. Then take the Fløibanen funicular (5 min walk from Bryggen) to the top of Mount Fløyen (320 m) - a 6 min ride with growing views over Bergen, the port and the seven surrounding mountains.

    Evening

Fisketorget & dîner de fruits de mer

Feast at the Fisketorget, Bergen's fish market since 1276: fresh salmon, royal shrimp, king crab legs and traditional fish soup are world-class waterfront fare.

  2. Day 2

    Sognefjord - King of Fjords

    Morning

    Train Bergen-Myrdal (Bergensbanen)

Take the Flåm Railway to the Sognefjord (longest and deepest in Norway at 204 km). One of the steepest railways in the world.

    Afternoon

Flåmsbana - train le plus spectaculaire du monde

Fjord cruise through the Nærøyfjord (UNESCO), the narrowest fjord at 250 m wide. 1,700 m cliffs on both sides.

    Evening

Croisière Flåm - Gudvangen sur le Nærøyfjord

Cruise the Nærøyfjord, the world's narrowest fjord (250 m wide) and a UNESCO site: 1,700-meter cliffs plunge into emerald water, waterfalls cascade and silence is absolute.

  3. Day 3

    Geirangerfjord

    Morning

    Route vers Geiranger

Drive the scenic route to Geirangerfjord (UNESCO), through mountain plateaus and hairpin turns. The road itself is an attraction.

    Afternoon

    Croisière sur le Geirangerfjord

Fjord cruise: Seven Sisters waterfall, the Suitor, the Bridal Veil - each with its legend. Vertical farms cling to cliff faces.

    Evening

    Belvédère de Flydalsjuvet & Ørnesvingen

Climb to the Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen viewpoints: the classic postcard plunge over the S-shaped Geirangerfjord and a perch above eleven hairpin turns and cruise ships.

  4. Day 4

    Trolltunga or Preikestolen

    Morning

    Route des Trolls (Trollstigen)

Choose your iconic hike: Trolltunga (Troll's Tongue, 10-12h) or Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock, 4h). Both offer jaw-dropping cliff views.

    Afternoon

    Ålesund - capitale Art Nouveau

At the summit: Trolltunga juts 700 m above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. Preikestolen hangs 604 m over Lysefjord.

    Evening

Coucher de soleil sur les îles & dîner

Enjoy late evening light over Ålesund's harbor, one of Norway's loveliest: Art Nouveau facades reflect in the Brosundet canal as the summer sun lingers above the horizon until 11pm.

  5. Day 5

    Lofoten Islands

    Morning

    Route de l'Atlantique (Atlanterhavsveien)

Drive the Atlanterhavsveien, voted Norway's road of the century: 8.3 km of bridges hopping between islets battered by the North Atlantic, with the iconic Storseisundet bridge climbing skyward.

    Afternoon

    Route vers Trondheim

Continue 3 hours to Trondheim, Norway's third city and former Viking capital: the coastal road weaves between fjords and mountains to a town founded in 997 where kings are still crowned.

    Evening

    Cathédrale de Nidaros & Bakklandet

Dinner of stockfish (Lofoten's historic export) or fresh cod in a rorbuer restaurant. In summer, golden light all night.

  6. Day 6

    Tromsø & Arctic Gateway

    Morning

    Forteresse de Kristiansten & panorama

Fly to Tromsø, 'Paris of the North' - vibrant city 350 km above the Arctic Circle. Visit the Arctic Cathedral.

    Afternoon

Musée Rockheim & quartier de Solsiden

Tour Rockheim, Norway's national pop music museum housed in a former harbor warehouse with a futuristic glass cube on top, then explore the trendy Solsiden waterfront district.

    Evening

Transfert vers Trondheim Værnes & vol retour

Head to Trondheim Værnes Airport (TRD), 30 km east of the city. The Værnes-Ekspressen (airport bus) leaves Munkegata square every 15 min during the day (~190 NOK / ~€17, 40 min). A taxi runs 700-900 NOK (~€60-80). The Trønderbanen train from Trondheim Sentralstasjon also serves the airport (~115 NOK, 35 min). Most international flights connect through Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) - Trondheim also has direct links to Amsterdam, Copenhagen and London. Hade Norge.
